Biography

Lying, cheating, fighting and stealing: These are common themes adopted by artists that want to show the dirtier, meaner side of life. The Flat Rats are no different. Hailing from Chicago, The Flat Rats are a band formed in early 2015, and since then they’ve been honing their sound in the style of early rock and blues.

The story of The Flat Rats is simple: three kids brought together by family, friendship, and a love for rock and roll. At their core, lead singer, songwriter and guitarist Bob Reisig tackles such subjects as love, pain, vengeance and debauchery through his heady lyrics and guitar playing. Supported with harmonies from bassist Sean Trinka and drummer David Reisig, the band rounds itself out nicely in just a three-piece outfit.

With influences like Elvis Costello, Johnny Cash, Muddy Waters, and Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Flat Rats aren’t afraid to show their roots and provide a refreshing, stripped down approach to their music. Using rock and roll as a vehicle, their clear aim is to misbehave and they want to take you along for the ride. "Lying, cheating, fighting and stealing” never sounded so good.
